Jacobsen was seen entering the Russian Embassy in October of 1995 and remained there for over one hour. Insiders describe notes Jacobsen made to a friend of the security of the Embassy and the people he knew there.
Jacobsen described how he was interviewed by agents of the FSB(Russian Intelligence) concerning a trip to Moscow Jacobsen had taken days before. Jacobsen described how a young blonde agent was "paged" and interviewed him after exercising. Jacobsen asked that he remove his Ray ban sunglasses that are used to shroud his eyes that would indicate neural eye movement. Agents asked that he write his concerns on a tablet of paper, however Jacobsen had his letter already prepared. There were five people who interviewed Jacobsen in different areas of the Embassy, but the longest duration of interview was the coatroom across the hallway of the Kiev room. Moments before, agents interviewed Jacobsen they cranked the window (10-15x) to block cameras from outside positions that monitor the Embassy. Also, the cranking of the window blocked the fixed transmission of an Ion Cannon (Westinghouse or Honeywell) to either charge a cavity transmitter installed at the time the Embassy was built in the 1980's or a beam to reflect the vibrations of a flat surface (possibly the glass chandelier) calibrated to detect sound.
Of note, in most cases it takes weeks to filter and assemble a surveillanced conversation out of the static.
Jacobsen is also a member of a social group (French Alliance) at the French consulate in San Francisco and dated an executive of Bull Systems... a French company in comparison to IBM.
Jacobsen, as a joke, informed his Russian case officer that they should X-Ray or ultrasound the walls of the Embassy, because Special Agent Richard Miller of the FBI had diagrammed possible locations of hidden transmitters.
Jacobsen was a known person at the Washington Post newspaper and Jacobsen was a personal favorite of the owner Katherine Graham.
It is known that Graham liked playing cat and mouse with ALL foreign intelligence groups to include the United States. She was extremely loyal to the U.S.
Friends of Graham placed an article concerning Craig Jacobsen in the Washington Post in 1997 next to Terry Nicoles, who Jacobsen sold books on "How to Manuels on to Blow Things Up". Subsequently, McVeigh and Nicols blew up the Murrow building in Oklahoma City.
Graham's friends also placed the article of Jacobsen being a store merchant to " flush out " any foreign service that was monitoring Jacobsen and possibly create leads to spy "moles".
Jacobsen was also seen at the French Embassy in DC at the gatehouse speaking with a senior agent and days later Jacobsen placed a cell call from a location in Oakridge, Tennessee.
Jacobsen was familiar with all of the French Embassy personal.
Jacobsen was friends with a research scientist at Oakridge Labs who was later convicted of spying for France selling hardware and given a life sentence in Federal prison.
